The Challenge

During this kitchen renovation, the project scope included the removal of a bearing wall based on approved plans and a finalized kitchen design. However, once demolition began, we discovered a main drain line running through the wall. This unexpected condition required immediate attention and impacted the planned sequence of work, creating a delay in the structural phase of the project.

The issue also required reassessment of the plumbing layout to ensure everything would meet code and function properly within the new design.

The Solution

Once the issue was identified, the team coordinated the relocation of the main drain line
before continuing with the structural work. This adjustment ensured the integrity of the plumbing system and allowed the project to proceed safely and up to code.

As a result, the timeline was extended by a couple of weeks to properly complete this phase. After resolving the issue, the renovation continued as planned, keeping the focus on delivering a high-quality finished kitchen and ensuring the client could move forward with their home improvements confidently.
